Business Tax Preparation

Comprehensive return preparation for entities of all types and sizes

Business tax preparation requires far more than technical proficiency with forms and schedules. It demands a thorough understanding of your business operations, your industry, your ownership structure, and your long-term objectives. At Lanphier LLP, we bring that comprehensive perspective to every business return we prepare, ensuring that your filing not only satisfies compliance requirements but also reflects the strategic planning we have done together throughout the year.

Our Denver-based team prepares returns for every type of business entity, from closely held family businesses to complex multi-entity structures with international operations. We work with businesses across a wide range of industries and are experienced with the unique tax considerations that different sectors present. No matter how your business is structured, we have the depth of expertise to handle your return with precision.

Forms We Prepare

Our business tax preparation practice covers the full spectrum of entity-level returns, including:

  • Form 1120 -- U.S. Corporation Income Tax Return (C-corporations)
  • Form 1120-S -- U.S. Income Tax Return for an S-Corporation
  • Form 1065 -- U.S. Return of Partnership Income
  • Form 1120-F -- U.S. Income Tax Return of a Foreign Corporation
  • Form 5471 -- Information Return of U.S. Persons with Respect to Certain Foreign Corporations
  • Form 8865 -- Return of U.S. Persons with Respect to Certain Foreign Partnerships
  • Form 8858 -- Information Return of U.S. Persons with Respect to Foreign Disregarded Entities and Foreign Branches

Year-Round Financial Review

We require all business tax preparation clients to participate in a QuickBooks review at least twice per year. These reviews are not optional add-ons -- they are a core part of our process. By reviewing your books mid-year and again before year-end, we catch errors early, identify planning opportunities while there is still time to act, and ensure that your financial records are in excellent shape well before the filing deadline.

This semi-annual review process also gives us the opportunity to discuss changes in your business, upcoming transactions, and any shifts in tax law that may affect your position. The result is a return that is prepared from clean, well-organized records and that fully reflects the planning strategies we have implemented together.

Flat-Fee Annual Agreements

Every business tax preparation engagement at Lanphier LLP is structured as a flat-fee annual agreement. This means you know exactly what your tax preparation will cost before the year even begins. Our agreements include the semi-annual QuickBooks reviews, all federal and state return preparation, and reasonable consultation throughout the year. There are no surprise invoices and no hourly billing anxiety. We want you to call us when you have questions -- not hesitate because you are worried about the meter running.

If you are a Denver-area business owner looking for a CPA firm that treats your tax return as the product of year-round partnership rather than a once-a-year transaction, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss how our approach can benefit your business.
